Mr. Eddie Barragan Wins Award for Encore!
Leadership Award
On November 4, 2017 Mr. Eddie Barragan was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for his leadership and commitment to after school programming at the Bridging the Bay Conference at Chabot College.  VCUSD's Carol Lewis also earned an award for Spotlight on Quality for Region 4 Expanded Learning Programs.  Congratulations, Loma Vista ESA is very proud of you both.


The LVESA ENCORE! after-school program is coordinated by Eddie Barragan ( and staffed by Greater Vallejo Recreation Department employees.  Students in grades 2-8 participate in academic and enrichment activities daily after school until 5:30 pm.  In addition to academic tutoring, healthy snacks, and physical education, students have the option to choose a daily Enrichment Class in a 4-week rotation.  There is Computer Coding taught by Mrs. Shontae Wills, Poetry, taught by Ms. Jacqueline Warren, and Farm Science taught by Ms. Marina Hammon Adams.  Mr. Eddie works with middle school students to improve their academic performance in English Language Arts.  There is currently a waiting list to participate in the Encore program.  You may ask for an application to get you r student on the waiting list.

Encore Video on Kindness Celebrated at Red Carpet Event

In March 2018, Solano County Supervisor John M Vasquez and District Attorney Krishna Abrams challenged all students in grades 7 through 12 to show what kindess looks like.  With the Kindness Challenge, students were asked "If you had the Power of Kindness, how would you use it?"  Loma Vista students in the Encore program responded with a short video that has been entered into the competition.  On May 8, 2018 at the Solano County Events Center, 601 Texas Street, Fairfield, there was a screening of the entries and awards ceremony.  The video features Meeya M, Malachi R, and Aliyah J.  Good job by Mr. Eddie Barragan and Destiny Ferrera.
